The payment ledger: statuses explained

What pending, due, late, partial, and paid mean, and when each status changes.

The five statuses

Every month of a long-term rental's payment ledger has one status: pending (not yet due), due (the payment date has arrived but it isn't marked paid yet), late (past the due date with nothing recorded), partial (some but not the full amount has been recorded), or paid (fully recorded). Keyio moves a month from pending to due and from due to late automatically based on the calendar — you only need to act when you record what was actually paid.

  1. 1Open the rental's Payments tab.
  2. 2Click on a month's row and record the amount received and date.
  3. 3The status updates immediately — paid if it matches the expected rent, partial if it's less.
