Enabling the Guest Portal for a property
A property-level opt-in that lets you generate a check-in link for each short-term booking.
Turning it on
The Guest Portal is a short-term-rental feature, turned on per property from the property's edit modal, in the Guest Portal step. It's off by default. Once enabled, you can choose whether portals generate automatically ahead of each check-in, or only when you manually click "Generate portal" from a booking.
Generating the link for a booking
From a short-term rental's Overview tab, the Guest Portal panel shows a "Generate portal" button once the property-level setting is on. Generating creates a unique link and a 4-digit portal access PIN for that booking. Send the link (with the PIN already included in the message) using the built-in "Send" action, or copy it and share it yourself.
The link stays active from generation through checkout, plus one extra day — after that it closes automatically. You can also close it manually at any time, or reopen a closed one.
Sending a WhatsApp check-in reminder
Once a portal is open for a booking, a WhatsApp icon next to the "Send"/"Resend" button lets you send a check-in reminder over WhatsApp — the property name, check-in date, and a link straight into the portal. The guest doesn't need to type anything: tapping the link logs them straight in, no PIN screen. It's a manual, one-off send, not a replacement for the portal-link email: use it as an extra nudge shortly before arrival, on top of (not instead of) sending the link itself.
- 1Click the WhatsApp icon on the booking's Guest Portal panel.
- 2Pick which guest(s) to send to — only guests with a phone number on file can be selected. Add a phone to a guest's details first if none shows up here.
- 3Confirm — each selected guest gets a WhatsApp message with a link that logs them straight into the portal when tapped.
